ITS Style Guide

Overview

The ITS Style Guide is an online reference for the Information Technology Services (ITS) department at The University of Texas at Austin. There are three main sections of the guide:

  • The Writer's Guide provides consistency to ITS publications, covering correct writing style, word usage, capitalization, punctuation, and other issues that arise daily in written communications, with a focus on technical communications. ITS Strategic Communications provides this guide as a resource for ITS staff and anyone in the university community who writes about technology.
  • Web Sites shows all the custom styling in the ITS Web site and when it is appropriate to use it.
  • Templates provides ITS staff with the ITS PowerPoint template for presentations and a minimal template for Web site headers and footers for ITS "properties" outside of the ITS Web site. Templates for Service and Operating Level Agreements are also available, along with process explanations. The templates incorporate the writing, graphic, and identity standards.

If you have any questions or comments about the ITS Style Guide and its usage, please contact ITS Strategic Communications.
