Deleting e-mail in Webmail doesn’t reduce mailbox size

If you use Webmail to read your e-mail, it’s important to both delete and purge messages that you no longer need because deleted messages stay in the deleted items folder and count against your quota.

Purging your deleted messages is a two-step process: you must first Delete unwanted messages, and then select the Purge Deleted option to permanently remove them. Otherwise, deleted messages will stay in your Deleted folder and continue to use space in your e-mail account.

To delete your messages from Webmail permanently (and not just mark them as deleted), follow the instructions for Deleting Messages in Webmail.
