Lines and Wall Jacks
Information Technology Services (ITS) provides telephone, fax, modem, ISDN, and virtual lines for University departments and organizations. Installation includes all necessary cabling and wall jacks. Maintenance of all telephone lines and wall jacks is included.
Each wall jack port is programmed specifically for the line (e.g. phone number) and type of equipment (e.g. deskset or fax machine) to which it is connected. See the "Help"pages for more information.

How to Order
Consult your ITS representative at 512-471-5800 for help choosing the best solution for your needs or a quote on lines or installation charges.
Use the Voice Line and Telephone Instrument Service Request to order new telephone service or instruments, or to change existing service. Make sure to choose a deskset if ordering a new phone line. If you'd like to add voicemail, order the phone line first. You can add voicemail once a number is assigned.

ITS offers Meridian® MBS II digital and 9000 series analog desksets with a variety of features for lease or purchase by University departments and contractors. Desksets may be ordered with or separately from new telephone service.
Leased phones are automatically covered by a maintenance agreement allowing faulty sets to be repaired or replaced at no charge to the department. Purchased phones require a small monthly charge for maintenance.

How to Order
Fill out and submit the Voice Line and Telephone Instrument Service Request to ITS for installation or a quote. This form is used for both ordering a new deskset and new service. Please use the telephone item number and name/description found under Deskset Pricing when completing your order.
NOTE: When ordering Meridian M5316 phones, please attach a face sheet to your request. Face sheets are templates of the various telephones and add-on modules that we provide and support (MBS II phones). The primary telephone line should be placed on Key 1 at the lower right hand corner of the set. For new lines where you do not know the phone number, enter "new".
