Mainframe Training IC 101 and IC 401

ITS offers two video-based tutorials focused on teaching end users and departmental contacts to use the administrative computing system (mainframe).

Mainframe Training - IC 101

This tutorial series is intended for UT Austin and UT System employees who are new to the mainframe. The training introduces the DEFINE application and covers basic system terminology needed to use the administrative computing system (mainframe).

Training Procedure

If your job responsibilities include using the mainframe, a mainframe account will be created for you. Once you have a mainframe account, you can enroll yourself in the IC 101 class series or your department may enroll you at the time your mainframe account is created. You can verify enrollment in the IC 101 class series in TXClass. Once enrolled, all you need to do to obtain training is view the four video-based tutorials below; no classroom instruction is provided. After you have completed the tutorials, please send an e-mail to training@its.utexas.edu.
