When scheduling videoconferences, please submit requests to the UT System Office of Telecommunication Services (OTS), which operates the UT System Video Network.
For Distance Education courses, please follow the guidelines found at UT System Compressed Video Class Scheduling Procedure. OTS follows the procedures set forth in this 1994 memorandum from Chancellor William H. Cunningham to schedule distance education classes and videoconferences and to resolve any conflicts.
Scheduling a Videoconference
University faculty or staff who want to request to host or to participate in a videoconference for educational, administrative, or research purposes must:
- Have access to a videoconferencing facility.
- Have a network connection to the UT System Video Network.
- Know the date and time of videoconference.
- Supply information about the hosting or participating site(s).
Once the information is assembled , please e-mail video@its.utexas.edu with any questions or requests you may have. Staff will send you any forms that are required.
Students who want to schedule a videoconference for educational, research, or career opportunities must locate a videoconferencing facility on campus that allows students to schedule videoconferences. Some departments that maintain videoconferencing rooms and facilities may offer this service. Please contact departments directly.
