Blocking and Allowing Specific E-mail Addresses

Webmail does not have a feature that bounces messages back to a sender. However, you can "blacklist" a specific e-mail address, which deletes messages from certain senders. This essentially means you'll never have to view messages from that address. Webmail can delete the message entirely, or move it to a folder you specify.

You also can "whitelist" e-mail addresses that you know and trust, so messages from those addresses always appear in your Inbox.

Like other mail filters you set up in Webmail, blacklist and whitelist rules are only enforced in Webmail. They do not affect messages you receive in other e-mail clients.

To add an e-mail address to your whitelist or blacklist, place a checkmark in the checkbox next to a message in your Inbox or other folder, and click the Blacklist or Whitelist links.

You can run whitelist and blacklist filters automatically or manually. To enable automatic blacklist capability, go to the Options for Mail page and click Filters in the Other Options column to display the Filter Settings page. Place checkmarks in the Apply filter rules upon logging on and Apply filter rules whenever Inbox is displayed checkboxes, and click the Save Options button. The blacklist filter will process messages whenever your Inbox is refreshed.

To run the blacklist filter automatically, click the funnel-shaped icon next to your mail folder's name near the top of any Mail page.

You can edit the list of email addresses in your whitelist and blacklist. From the Filter Settings page, click the Edit your blacklist or Edit your whitelist links, and make the changes you want to the lists of addresses.
