Managing Folder Subscriptions

You can subscribe to or unsubscribe from public or private IMAP folders on your mail server, and determine which of these folders you want to display. Each IMAP folder appears as a separate folder, depending on the folders you subscribe to and the preferences you select. Subscriptions are stored on the server; manipulating folders using Webmail will affect what you see in other e-mail client programs.

Unsubscribing from IMAP folders can be useful if you have non-mail files in your home e-mail directory that you do not want to include in your Webmail folder list. If you have an account on an IMAP server with many folders, you may want to reduce the number of folders that display by default.

Displaying Folders

  1. From the top of the main Mail page, click the Options icon to display the Mail Options page.
  2. Click the Server and Folder Information link.
  3. Place a checkmark in the Use IMAP folder subscriptions checkbox.
  4. Click theSave Options button.

The Use IMAP folder subscriptions option causes only subscibed IMAP folders to display. You can unsubscribe to any folders you do not want to appear.
