New Users

NOTE: Be sure your desktop firewall is configured to access the campus print servers on subset 172.16.101.192/27 (subnet 172.16.101.192 & mask 255.255.255.224).

  1. Log in using an account with administrator privileges (you may need to have your TSC log in for you).
  2. Using Internet Explorer, go to file://print.austin.utexas.edu.
  3. Double-click the printer that you want to use.
  4. If you are prompted for login information, enter:
    AUSTIN\eid
    Be sure to replace eid with your UT EID. Provide your password.
  5. If you see a warning that installing drivers can be dangerous, select OK.
  6. To use this printer automatically whenever you print, select the Printer option and then select Set as default printer.

Printers in austin.utexas.edu can be accessed from on campus or using the campus Virtual Private Network (VPN).
