Windows Software Update Service (WSUS)
Overview
On October 29, 2012, ITS will approve for distribution Internet Explorer 8 and Internet Explorer 9 to campus computers using the Campus WSUS service. If you have a Department WSUS and do not wish to have your computers receive this upgrade, please send a request to help@its.utexas.edu.
Microsoft regularly provides updates to its Windows operating system. You can obtain these updates yourself (by setting your computer to automatically update), or you can obtain these updates through the campus update service. ITS selects which service packs, critical updates, and security updates are published internally to UT servers and individual Windows computers, so you can be sure you're getting the most important updates.

Cost
The Windows Software Update Service is available at no cost to UT students, faculty, and staff.
