Spring commencement and convocation ceremonies at The University of Texas at Austin were held May 16 and 17 in various venues across campus where thousands of students and guests gathered for the celebration.

The convocation ceremonies, hosted by the various colleges, schools and departments, featured prominent speakers and recognized undergraduates and graduate students individually.

The 125th university-wide spring commencement ceremony celebrated the achievements of the 7,400 undergraduates and graduate students completing their degrees.

The ceremony began with a carillon prelude and ended with a fireworks display and the singing of “The Eyes of Texas.” The university’s Tower was illuminated orange with “08″ displayed on the sides of the building in honor of the graduates.

Jody Conradt, a legend in women’s basketball and intercollegiate athletics administration at The University of Texas at Austin, was the keynote speaker.
