Find out why ancient shipwrecks remain preserved and intact in the basement of the Black Sea unlike any other place in the world. Travel deep into the sea’s dead zone using remote operated vehicles. Discover why Bob Ballard, the famous oceanographer, sought a partnership with the Institute of Classical Archeology (ICA) at The University of Texas at Austin, subsequently hiring graduate research assistant Dan Davis to his crew.

My congratulations to all of you for the excellent works and best results with Dr. Robert Ballard. I'm proud, I was a member of Dr.Bob Ballard's team of Black sea expeditions 2001 and 2002 of the Institute of Explorations and Institute of Oceanology of Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. We had a great chance and success! Unfortunately, we had not your great chance to use such new remote operated vehicles as HERCULES (Look at http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2003/01/17/1042520776188.html and http://www.unknowncountry.com/news/?id=747)
