The Center for American History at The University of Texas at Austin will be named for Dolph Briscoe, former governor of Texas, following gifts totaling $15 million and recognizing his support for preserving and promoting Texas and U.S. history. The gift is the largest in the history of the Center, and follows Briscoe’s previous financial and in-kind support for the Center’s programs and collections.
