  • Presidential historian named director of the LBJ Library and Museum

    Presidential historian Mark K. Updegrove has been named the new director of the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum, effective Oct. 11. Updegrove is the author of two major works on the presidency, “Second Acts: Presidential Lives and Legacies After the White House,” which won the Book of the Year Silver Medal Award for Political Science from ForeWord Magazine, and “Baptism By Fire: Eight Presidents Who Took Office in Times of Crisis.” He is the director of business development at Rawle Murdy, a communications firm, and in the past has worked for notable publications such as Yahoo! Canada, Nickelodeon Magazine, MTV Magazine, Newsweek, Time and Time Canada.
