  • Professor comments on Mayan Year 2012 Doomsday in New York Times

    Apolinario Chile Pixtun is tired of being bombarded with frantic questions about the Mayan calendar supposedly ”running out” on Dec. 21, 2012. After all, it’s not the end of the world. Or is it? “It’s a special anniversary of creation,” said David Stuart, a specialist in Mayan epigraphy at The University of Texas at Austin. ”The Maya never said the world is going to end, they never said anything bad would happen necessarily, they’re just recording this future anniversary on Monument Six.”

      I have had a Mayan Codex for over 20 years.It came from Guatemala I would like to send you some photos. I have some documentation as to it's authenticity also. I live in Houston and could make the codex available for you to see. I have a letter fromt he University of California, they did some Carbon dating and put it at around 1600
