I thought the President's speech was powerful on so many levels. He is a man of his word and I know that he will keep his promise to the young people so that they can make the best of their lives without overburdening themselves with debt. I remember how I couldn't even imagine attending UT-Austin because of the tuition and because it catered to the non-Hispanic Whites. But look at the student body now! Impressive mix! I wish each and everyone of you the success that Our President believes you can attain.

Am I the only one who is glad that our current president is a great public speaker? Everyone's focusing on what he does, sure, as important as that may be, it's still nice that he doesn't sound like, ahem, some "other" presidents.

We've come a very long way in America. Still a long way to go. It's amazing that President Obama is so much more media friendly. It's great because he understands how this new generation and the following ones need to see and hear him outside of Cspan etc.

I cannot express the emotions running through my head as I listen to President Obama and reflect on my entrance to the University 49 years ago. At that time I lived in segregated housing. Now less than 50 years later, the leader of our nation is an African American

UT Student, As a student who attended the President's speech, I want to let you know that the President REQUESTED that we show up in Burnt Orange attire so that is the reason that we DID. As far as taking pictures, who wouldn't want to record an occasion that one may never have again in life? Try not to be so judgemental or at least only judge what you know.

It is good to see folks in Texas saying the Pledge of Allegiance. I wish your governor's allegiance had been more firm, especially given the fact that he calls on the rest of us to subsidize his Cowboy border activities.

I only heard part of the but did he know where he was? With all due respect, Texas doesn't have to worry about changing to keep kids in college. Everybody want to go there....

I think this is awesome, Obama at UT. College costs are expensive, the next generation has to get educated, loans are too expensive, you start out behind after making it through college. This country is wonderful, we've got to support the next generation and help make a change. This is a global world we now reside in. My sister had a mountain of debt coming out of college, working two jobs.

Dear Mr.President, Many of our students have serious health conditions. After the age of twenty five when we have to take our own Health Insurance policies. How can you assure us that we will not be exploited or denied coverage by the Insurance companies due to pre-existing conditions? And what steps are you going to take to prevent this? Thank you, John Jacob 3rd year Bio-Medical Engineering.

If it were a possible to ask the president a question, mine would be this: Mr. President... It is generally agreed that some 19% of this country owns nearly 90% of its wealth. That means the other 80% of us own only 10% of it. Isn't it fair to say that the jobs we need in this country and the loans we need from banks to jump start our small businesses must come from the 90% of the wealth and not the 10%? Isn't it fair to implicate the 40% of the Congress that has voted "no" 100% of the time you've been in office as a major reason this country is having such a difficult time moving forward?

I wonder, will this be yet another Mickey Mouse event staged without the ability to ask any REAL questions? Or is it just going to be another mental technique masqueraded as a conference? Don't be afraid to ask questions!!! Speak your mind!!!!! This is STILL AMERICA!!!!
