    By Mason Jones
    Published: April 1, 2011

Don Carleton, of the Briscoe Center for American History, reveals how the stories of our past make up who we are today.

The Briscoe Center is a leading history research center that collects, preserves and displays a range of materials historically relevant to Texas and the United States. The Research and Collections Division is in Sid Richardson Hall on the university campus.

Carleton has been the executive director of the Briscoe Center since its creation in 1991. Read his biography.
