Meet a Game Changer: Lauren Ancel Meyers

    Published: Jan. 23

Dr. Lauren Ancel Meyers is a mathematical biologist who develops new computational methods for studying the spread and control of infectious diseases in humans and wildlife. She works with public health agencies throughout the world, including the Texas Department of State Health Services and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, to develop effective surveillance and intervention strategies for influenza and other diseases.

This Thursday, Jan. 26 at 6 p.m., Meyers will discuss global pandemics, why influenza remains a major threat and how data and modern computing are helping to fight contagion as part of the university’s Game Changers series.

Game Changers brings The University of Texas at Austin’s intellectual talent beyond the classroom with a live 60-minute show that will also be broadcast on the Longhorn Network.

The talk is in Studio 6A at the KLRU studios in the Jesse H. Jones Communications Center B on The University of Texas at Austin campus.

RSVP by email to reserve your seat in Studio 6A.

Where can I find the full recording of the game changers show with Lauren Ancel Meyers? Is the full recording available on the internet somewhere for viewing?
