    Published: May 31, 2014

On Saturday, May 31, the university honors reQwip and Prepify, both McCombs School of Business student team national champions, with a Tower lighting.

reQwip won first place at The Next Play Venture Tournament, a national competition for student-led business plans that aim to make the sports industry more sustainable. reQwip is a startup founded by Dan Driscoll (MBA and MA in Advertising, ’14), Albert Swantner (BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering, ’09) and Kate Dailey (wife of Doug Herling, MBA, ’15); the team also includes Andoni Mendoza (Computer Science, ’15).

Prepify won the Walmart-Net Impact “Better Living” Business Plan Challenge hosted by Net Impact, a nonprofit membership organization for students and professionals interested in using business skills in support of various social and environmental causes. Prepify is a project created by Texas MBA students who took a corporate social responsibility class at McCombs.

Congratulations to the reQwip and Prepify teams! Hook ‘em.
