Professor Madeline Hsu's observation of "the first illegal immigrants in the United States were Chinese because they were the first ones to face restriction" is sharp. My current academic interests are Chinese American literature and the Mexican American poet and scholar Gloria Anzaldua's new Mestiza consciousness. Today,I have been surfing the internet for any possible visiting scholar opportunity related to my interests in American universities and have just happened to notice this video clip by Professor Hsu. I've got a governmental scholarship for overseas studies to assist me in my research in America from Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, Jiangsu Province, P.R.China. Now the problem I am faced with is which American school to choose.
