The baby weaning always happens; the weaning from the gas pump must happen.

Europe has left us far, far behind in terms of energy alternatives and legitimate public transportation. We can't seem to wean ourselves from the pump, no matter how high prices go. Why do we have to be on the edge of the cliff, literally about to fall down, before we do something about it? We know this is an issue, KNOWN it's an issue for some time, yet...ugh we don't have responsible politicians in Congress.
