I am so proud of the Seton team for their pursuit of new methods in service to our patients and their families. Since this project was undertaken, outcomes and satisfaction scores in the city’s most intense emergency room have continued to improve.

In a similar way, several years ago UT’s Intellectual Entrepreneurship Consortium (IE) conducted a “synergy group” to address the issue of overcrowded emergency rooms. IE brought together students from a variety of disciplines and members of the public and private sector. IE’s assumption was that the solution to society’s complex problems requires multi-institutional and cross-disciplinary thinking. Read more about the IE synergy group approach to learning:
