so glad to hear that the Cactus Cafe lives on! It was definitely one of my favorite places at UT, both as a music venue and an after-class hangout in graduate school.
I moved back to Texas in 1990 and heard Darden Smith and Boo Hewerdine at the Cactus. Wow, was it great. The Cactus has held a special place in my heart since.
