"Roughly 500 students are set to receive scholarships and financial assistance under the new initiative"... there are 52.000 students.. how is this number supposed to make me feel better? i've no idea. and even if i get $2000, i'm a foreign student and right now my bill for 4 classes is over $16.000... How am I supposed to graduate on time and get the aid i need? It definitely does not come from UT.

Considering that the primary degree in the School of Architecture is 5 year degree and is vastly superior in professional quality to the 4 year degree offered, I find it unfair to list it next to other programs as it appears to be the worst offender at the university. A 4 year Architecture degree requires 5 studios and a graduate degree for license. On the other hand a 5 year degree has 10 studios with no graduate degree needed to obtain your license. In this field it is a financial burden to obtain a 4 year degree. This is price paid for merely tossing out statistics without actually delving deeper.
