Those words were the first thing I saw when I arrived on campus back in 1972. All those books, and professors, and laboratories, and classes filled with students debating it and arguing about it, but nevertheless hungry for one thing - THE TRUTH. Societal paradigm shifts in thinking have distorted, debated, and sometimes revealed the truth. I'm glad those words were chiseled in stone. Some things never change, despite our overt attempts to force change upon the people we are here to serve and co-exist with. The truth often hurts, and sometimes divides us, but it is always there -like an epiphany- waiting for us to receive it. Somewhere, amid all the controlled chaos of an education, and really- right there in our hearts and minds- lies THE truth. UT is as good a place to seek truth as there is. Just be careful not to be deceived. It is a process that may take you a lifetime to achieve. Never stop seeking. Never stop learning. Never stop listening to your heart.
