| Description: | William Powers Jr., president of The University of Texas at Austin, will deliver his fifth President's State of the University Address, reporting on the university's progress and new initiatives. The program is open to the public and will take place on the 127th anniversary of The University of Texas at Austin.
The president's address will be broadcast live on Sept. 15 on the Web and on campus cable channels 11 and 13. The live streaming for the program will begin at 3:45 p.m. RealPlayer (free download) is needed to view the live webcast.
Powers is the 28th president of UT Austin. Before taking office on Feb. 1, 2006, he was dean of the university's School of Law, where he won recognition for recruiting a wold-class faculty and attracting highly diverse and talented students. He delivered his inaugural address on the state of the university on Sept. 19, 2006. |
