| Description: | Elizabeth Gershoff, associate professor at UT Austin's School of Human Ecology, will present a talk titled "Trends In, Effects Of, and Policies and Programs to Reduce Child Poverty in the U.S." as part of the Department of Human Development and Family Sciences' 2010-11 seminar series.
In her current research, funded by National Institute of Child Health and Development (NICHD), National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Gershoff focuses on the impacts of poverty, community violence and neighborhoods on child and youth development over time. Her research combines longitudinal and hierarchical methods for understanding the dynamic and multi-layered contexts of children's lives. |
