 February 3, 2011
| Time: | 1:15-8:30 p.m. |
| Description: | Join us for a lively debate that will focus on crucial questions for theorists of democracy in Latin America. Do glowing evaluations of Chilean democracy in general reconcil with the bitter conflicts and critiques that focus on indigenous rights? Are indigenous activists extremists, or is the democratic process in Chile seriously flawed in the area of cultural rights? Has the Argentinean government been capable of expanding the rights of its indigenous communities? All events take place at Sid Richardson Hall except the 7 p.m. conference.
