|Description:||Rob Mermin, world-famous clown, mime, actor and director of Circus Smirkus,
an internationally acclaimed youth circus in Vermont, presents "Silents Are Golden: A Celebration of Silent Cinema." Mermin's presentation uses silent film as a foundation for exploring nonverbal communication in American popular entertainment.
Mermin trained in classical mime with Etienne Decroux and Marcel Marceau, and has performed in European circus, theater, TV and film for 40 years. He is an author, director, university lecturer, former dean of Ringling Bros.
