| Description: | The Texas Program in Sports and Media features Dr. Ben Carrington in a conversation about his book "Race, Sport and Politics: The Sporting Black Diaspora." An associate professor in the Department of Sociology, Carrington researches issues of masculinity and national identity formation and the nature of cultural resistance within the arena of popular culture. Dr. John Hoberman, a professor in the Department of Germanic Studies, will join Carrington in this dialogue, offering counterpoint and perspective on issues raised in the book.
This collegial conversation offers an opportunity to nurture the developing community of sports and society scholarship at The University of Texas at Austin.
