New UT Events Calendar to Launch in January 2014

Event submissions via Know Events has been retired effective December 20, 2013. University Communications is implementing a new events calendar in January 2014. The new site is located at calendar.utexas.edu.

Please go to Hornslink to submit an event. Instructions on how to submit an event using Hornslink can be found on the Dean of Students website.

Other Students, Faculty, and Staff:
Please visit the new UT Events Calendar to submit an event. Instructions on how to submit an event to the new UT Events Calendar can be found on the University Communications website.

Events may still be submitted automatically to the new UT Events Calendar through a standards-compliant RSS or iCal feed. Please consult the UT Events Calendar Documentation for more information.

Current recipients of the Know Events email newsletter will continue to receive events listings once the transition has been made.

Description:Attend a screening of award-winning Argentine films from the late 1990s and early 2000s, the era that marked the beginning of the current flowering of Argentine cinema. Offered in conjunction with "Recovering Beauty: 1990s in Buenos Aires," these films cover a range of styles from the comedic to the gritty, with three taking place in Buenos Aires. Screenings will also take place on Sunday, April 3, and Sunday, May 1.

Festival organized by Gonzalo Aguilar, professor of literature in the Department of Philosophy and Letters at the University of Buenos Aires and author of "Other Worlds: New Argentine Film." Films featured are "La ciénaga" (The Swamp, 2000, dir. Lucrecia Martel), and "Pizza, birra, faso" (Pizza, Beer, and Cigarettes, 1997, dir. Bruno Stagnaro and Adrian Caetano).

Future screenings: Sunday, April 3, 2 p.m. - "Silvia Prieto" (2001, dir. Martín Rejtman). Sunday, May 1, 2 p.m. "Mundo grúa (Crane World, 1999, dir. Pablo Trapero), "La libertad" (Freedom, 2001, dir. Lisandro Alonso).
