Description:The Strauss Center presents Adam Segal, Ira A. Lipman senior fellow for counterterrorism and national security studies, Council on Foreign Relations, in a discussion of his book "Advantage: How American Innovation Can Overcome the Asian Challenge." Refreshments provided. The emergence of China and India as economic powers has shifted the global landscape and called into question the ability of the United States to compete and maintain its technological lead. Segal sorts out the challenges the U.S. faces and focuses on what drives innovation, what constrains it and what advantages we have to leverage.

Segal is an expert on security issues, technology development and Chinese domestic and foreign policy. He currently leads study groups on cybersecurity and cyber conflict as well as Asian innovation and technological entrepreneurship. He is a research associate of the National Asia Research Program.
