| Description: | Afsar Mohammad, lecturer in Asian Studies, presents "The Making of a Post-Partition/Postcolonial Muslim: A Novelist's Journey in Times of Violence." Mohammad, a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, is a published writer of poetry, prose and literary criticism in India. His work has received the Ugadi National Integration Honor from the Madras Telugu Academy, as well as other awards.
The South Asia Seminar Series explores the changing social contexts in South Asia and the world that affects reading publics and their relationship to new trends in South Asian writing in many languages. Regular seminars occur on Thursdays at 3:30 p.m., preceded by a reception at 3 p.m. |
