Description:The Department of French and Italian presents Italy's official selection for the 2011 Academy Awards in the Best Foreign Film category, Paolo Virzi's "La prima cosa bella"(The First Beautiful Thing, 2010). A paean to a beautiful and exuberant mother filled with joie de vivre, the film spans four decades of a family with gentle pathos and sly humor. In Italian with English subtitles.
