| Description: | Attend a discussion on grassroots organization and activist scholarship featuring Paula X. Rojas (Mamas of Color Rising and INCITE!); Rose M. Pulliam (Allgo, a statewide queer people of color organization); and Dr. Shannon Speed (associate professor of anthropology, assistant vice president for diversity and community engagement and director of the Community Engagement Center).
This event is an interaction with Refugio: A Community Organizing Training Center, an initiative of several progressive grassroots organizations in Austin along with scholars engaged in activist research. The event features a discussion of the goals and training methods Refugio uses and its relationship to activist scholarship. |
