March 31, 2011
Time:5-6 p.m.
Description:Howard Taylor, director, San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts presents "Just Do It!" - a discussion of the philosophy of the San Angelo museum. Being a socially responsive institution involves risk, pain and going beyond the norms and expectations of what many suppose to be the limits of their mission. The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts from its beginning has said that it is "not just about art on the walls but art in our lives" and that "the community is the greatest work of art." Through its programs and community involvement, the museum has ventured far beyond where most museums are willing to go in community involvement.
