Description:Sociologist Roderick Ferguson presents "The Reorder of Things: On the Institutionalization of Difference," a critique of the production of normativity as modern institutions incorporate racialized, gendered and sexualized differences.

Ferguson is associate professor and department chair of American Studies at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. He is the co-editor of "Strange Affinities: The Gender and Sexual Politics of Comparative Racialization" and author of "Aberrations in Black: Toward a Queer of Color Critique."
