Description:Kyler Eastman, Ph.D., presents a talk titled "Neurons in a Haystack: Electrophysiological Studies of the Brain." Eastman is a research engineer at the university's Center for Perceptual Systems.

As neuropsychological diagnostic technology becomes more powerful in uncovering functional brain properties, an often overlooked problem is the increased cognitive load of researchers using it. Eastman addresses his lab's research as a case study for these problems, and how, historically, many of the experimental methods rely on the perceptual judgments of the experimenter.
