Description:"The Second Wave of Secular Humanism: How Scholarship Undermines Religion" is the first in a series of lectures by James H. Dee, professor emeritus in classics, University of Illinois-Chicago.

In this lecture, Dee describes a new stage in the secular humanist challenge to organized religion, focusing on the work of highly qualified scholars whose research has led them to turn away from the beliefs with which they were raised.

Dee is an op-ed columnist at the Austin American-Statesman and a founding member of the Center for Inquiry-Austin.
