Chappell Ellison, an alumna of the design undergraduate program and the D-Crit program at the School of Visual Arts, discusses her exploits in the design world and the importance of writing for today's designer.
Ellison is a winner of the Winterhouse writing award for exceptional talent in design writing and criticism. She works at Etsy and is an assistant editor at Design Observer. Recently, she wrote in Good Magazine about a brief project called "Everything Must Go" in which she attempted to learn to live with less while writing about designers saving the world without creating more stuff. She lives in Brooklyn where she is constantly disturbed by the price of lemons ($1.50 each).
