Join Landmarks for a Q&A with artist Ben Rubin and the unveiling of his video projection titled "And That's The Way It Is," honoring the legacy of College of Communication alumni Walter Cronkite. The work will be unveiled in front of the Jesse H. Jones Communication Complex at 8:30 p.m.
The video projection will illuminate the face of the Communication Building A (CMA) with choreographed text drawn from archival transcripts of Cronkite's broadcasts and recently published news. As daily news is generated, the text adapts to reflect current events - connecting the past and present.
Prior to the unveiling, Rubin will hold a Q&A session in the Texas Advanced Computing Center's Visualization Lab moderated by Kathleen Forde, artistic director of the Borusan Contemporary Museum in Istanbul. The event is co-hosted by TACC.
