| Description: | Andreas Dresen, one of the most critically acclaimed German filmmakers working today, discusses his most recent film, "Stopped on Track" (Halt auf freier Strecke). Dresen will answer questions about his own work and filmmaking in Germany today.
The U.S. pre-premiere of the film takes place at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema South Lamar on Monday, April 23, at 7 p.m.; the screening (free with UT ID) will be followed by a discussion with the Dresen.
This heart-wrenching portrayal of a young family faced with the husband's terminal cancer won numerous awards at film festivals in Cannes, Karlovy Vary, Ghent, Chicago and others; it was voted film of the year at the 2012 Berlin Film Festival. |
