Description:Attend An Evening with Frank Deford on the occasion of the publication of his memoir, "Over Time: My Life as a Sportswriter." Deford will sign copies of his book preceding the dialogue at 5:15 p.m. Conversation to be moderated by Sports Illustrated executive editor Terry McDonnell.

This event promises to be an enlightening and insightful dialogue about Deford's insights on the function of sports in American culture. Deford is the 2012 winner of the Red Smith Award for excellence in sportswriting, an honor won six other times in his distinguished career. As a journalist, Deford has been elected to the Hall of Fame of the National Association of Sportscasters and Sportswriters. The American Journalism Review has cited him as the nation's finest sportswriter. He was twice voted Magazine Writer of the Year by the Washington Journalism Review.
