May 10, 2012
Time:7:30-8:30 p.m.
Description:Michelle Brown of O. Henry Middle School, Austin ISD, presents "Adventures in Science at the Bottom of the World," a tale of scientific exploration in Antarctica. Come early for refreshments and children's activities.

Imagine a place where the sun doesn't set, the ice doesn't melt and the landscape is so inhospitable that it is an ideal location to simulate life on the moon. Conducting research in Antarctica can be challenging, but this icy continent is home to many fascinating science investigations. Middle school science teacher Michelle Brown discusses her adventures working with two science research teams across Antarctica.
Location:Brackenridge Field Laboratory (BFL), 2907 Lake Austin Boulevard
