June 27, 2012
Time:10-11 a.m.
Description:Attend this meeting to learn you can take part in a Capture the Flag event sponsored by the Information Security Office to apply secure web application development principles. Contact Jason Ragland at 512-475-9376 or jason@utexas.edu for further information.

This month-long event requires participants to exploit a number of flaws in an LMS type application from the point of view of a student. Challenges require a few hours of independent work each week to complete, and will provide developers hands-on experience with the same methods attackers use to exploit web sites, and thus a better understanding of how to prevent such vulnerabilities in their own applications.
