| Description: | Alberto A. Martinez, associate professor in the department of history, presents a lecture titled "Einstein, Relativity and Myth," about Einstein's groundbreaking 1905 paper on relativity and the myths it spawned.
In 1905, Albert Einstein, an unknown, third-class clerk at the Swiss Federal Office for Intellectual Property, solved outstanding problems in physics by proposing a theory about the relativity of time. Einstein's original paper became immensely influential in physics and other fields. Martinez discusses how his relativity paper of 1905 changed physics and how it also led to misinterpretations and myths. |
