Description:Professor Marcia Landy discusses the uses of autobiography and biography as fabulation in contemporary Italian cinema in her talk, "The Biopic, Spectacle, and Counter History," which reconsiders the employment of invention and documentation in the formal and conceptual treatment of history.

Landy is distinguished professor in English and film studies with a secondary appointment in the French and Italian Department at the University of Pittsburgh.
