Noted art historian and critic Rosalyn Deutsche gives a lecture presenting her current work on contemporary art and war. Deutsche has written extensively on topics including public art, art and activism, and feminist theories of representation. She teaches at Barnard College and is the author of the well-known work "Evictions: Art and Spatial Politics," which analyzes the social exclusions created by urban development projects. In addition, she has written catalogue essays on artists including Hans Haacke, Louise Lawler and Krzysztof Wodiczko. This lecture is part of the interdisciplinary HI Distinguished Lecture Series, "Intellectual Life at Moments of Crisis."
