Description:Associate Professor Michael Mogavero will be featured in "Four Letter Words," the fall exhibition at the Courtyard Gallery in the AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center at the University of Texas at Austin. Art History MFA candidate Katie Geha describes the paintings as featuring a word that echoes from the center, playing off "the general notion of the four-letter word," however, "these letters combine in a fanciful arrangement to suggest something like comfort" more than danger.

Mogavero has had solo exhibitions at the Holly Solomon, Ruth Siegel & Oscarson Siegeltuch Galleries in New York, Galerie Six Freidrich in Munich, Germany, and Galerie Corinne Hummel in Basel, Switzerland. Group exhibitions include "200 years of Drawing," a survey of drawing in the last two centuries at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, and "Back to the USA," a survey exhibition of contemporary American art that traveled throughout Europe. Public collections of his work include AT&T, The Prudential Insurance Company, the Walker Art Center, and the Princeton University Art Museum.

There will be an opening reception on Thurs., Sept. 9, from 4 to 6 p.m.
