Events may still be submitted automatically to the new UT Events Calendar through a standards-compliant RSS or iCal feed. Please consult the UT Events Calendar Documentation for more information.

Description:Las Calacas is a Dia de los Muertos show featuring dance, music and a spoken word performance about the cultural significance of the holiday. Light refreshments served. Contact for more information.

The show features the UT Conjunto Ensemble, Glashta and Ndeo and Grupo Flor y Canto. The festivities will include spoken word, live music, Afro-Mestizo dances (Yucatan and Costa Chica), as well as son jaliscience (zapateado that accompanies mariachi music).

Las Calacas 2011 was made possible through the support of the University CO-OP, Dr. Juan Gonzalez, the Division of Recreational Sports, the Center for Mexican American Studies and Grupo Flor y Canto.
