Description:Vincent Crapanzano (Anthropology/Comparative, CUNY Graduate Center) presents "Double, Triple Entrapment: The Harki Story." Crapanzano researches the role of narrative and silence in the passage of a wound - a trauma - from generation to generation in the context of the Harkis, Algerians who fought alongside the French during Algeria's War of Independence.

Coordinated by the Center for European Studies as part of the EU Center for Excellence Lecture Series in Anthropology. Additional support provided by the Program in Comparative Literature.
